Mrs Claire Knox
Hello, I am Mrs Claire Knox, Reception and Nursery Class Teacher. I have worked within primary schools since 2010, primarily within the Foundation Phase and I qualified with PGCE and QTS in July 2020. My aim is to help to develop the confidence and independence in each individual child to embrace their learning journey for life. With a background in art, I am keen to develop my role as lead teacher in Expressive Arts and help to develop a diverse and creative approach to teaching within our wonderful school community.
Mrs J Jones
My name is Joanne Jones and I have worked at Ysgol Bryn Collen for nearly 4 amazing years. I am a Teaching Assistant in Nursery and Reception classes, which I enjoy immensely. I enjoy watching every child building in confidence and making new friends, from the first day they are with us. We enjoy learning through play, which encourages imagination and interaction with classmates. I enjoy creating classroom displays to help encourage visual learning and make the classroom a welcoming environment. Bryn Collen has an amazing outdoor curriculum, which is one of the many things I love about this school.
Ms R Davenport
I’m Rachel Davenport and I’m a teaching assistant in the Nursery/Reception classroom. I have worked in various Early Years settings and primary schools since I qualified with a degree in Early Years Education in 2016. I have worked at Ysgol Bryn Collen since 2018 and have worked across the whole Foundation Phase.
I enjoy working with our youngest children and like to encourage their inquisitive nature when we are learning through play both indoors and outdoors. I am passionate about ensuring every child feels valued, comfortable and confident as they enter our classroom.
I am particularly interested in supporting our youngest pupils in their verbal and non-verbal communication and I am qualified to Level 2 in Makaton and I am currently studying for my Level 1 certificate in British Sign Language.
I enjoy coming to work each day to a fun and happy school atmosphere.
