Hello, my name is Mrs Harper. I joined Ysgol Bryn Collen in September 2021 as the Deputy Headteacher and year 3/4 class teacher. Previous to this, I was working in a school in Flintshire, where I taught a mixed year 3/4 class. I started my teaching career in 2002 after studying in Bangor University. I spent the first 17 years teaching years 5 and 6. During this time I enjoyed preparing children for their transition to high school, working closely with the feeder high schools.
As a teacher I have a passion for the health and well being of the children I teach, and the staff I work alongside. I love to be active, and like taking part in all the activities on offer during residential trips. I don’t ask a child to do something I’m not willing to have a go at myself! I love reading to children and enjoy sharing the enthusiasm of a good plot or a funny scene. When I find a good class text I’m as eager to read on as the kids are to listen.
In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit, walking my dog and running after my two children!
