Miss Rachel Davenport

Teaching Assistant

I’m Rachel Davenport and I’m a teaching assistant in the Dosbarth Tegid year 1 and 2 classroom. I have worked in various Early Years settings and primary schools since I qualified with a degree in Early Years Education in 2016. I have worked at Ysgol Bryn Collen since 2018 and have worked across the whole Foundation Phase.  

I enjoy working with our youngest children and like to encourage their inquisitive nature when we are learning through play both indoors and outdoors. I am passionate about ensuring every child feels valued, comfortable and confident as they enter our classroom.

I am particularly interested in supporting our youngest pupils in their verbal and non-verbal communication and I am qualified to Level 2 in Makaton and I am currently studying for my Level 1 certificate in British Sign Language. 

I enjoy coming to work each day to a fun and happy school atmosphere.

Mrs Cathryn Crilly

Teacher (currently on Maternity)

My name is Mrs Crilly and I teach Year 1 and 2. I absolutely love being a teacher and I feel very privileged that I get to spend so much time with such wonderful young people. My classroom is full of fun, creativity and imagination. I love to sing everything at the top of my voice and you could probably hear my classroom from very far away! I also enjoy sharing stories about my dog Jasper who can sometimes get himself into trouble.

I love to encourage children to believe in themselves and that they are capable of anything if they work hard enough at it. Our learners in year 1/2 are engaged and enthusiastic which makes it an absolute pleasure to come into work every day!

I have led Digital competency and well-being as subjects throughout the whole school so I spend lots of my time fixing any ICT problems people have and working on how we can best support our learners to be confident, happy and motivated.
